Do what you love!
Why is it important to do what you love?
How often do you wake up on a weekday with a smile? How often do you look in the mirror every morning and ask yourself if you are happy?
Hardly do we do such self-analyzing. But most of the time, we don't need a mirror to tell our truths. One can tell this from their mood, from how they feel inside about their day and their work. In the process of earning money to survive, we have entered into a trap where we only give importance to the money we make. As we think that money will solve our problems, our survival will be secured and will bring happiness. But that is not true, I don't deny the need for money for survival, but I argue that it brings happiness. Money can buy things that can make you happy and your lives more comfortable. But is that all we want and need?
How often do we think about our happiness and the factors that can enhance it tenfold? Happiness is related to how you feel. How do you feel after doing something or meeting someone? As we grow up and our responsibilities increase, we think that all we need is to earn money and fulfill all our duties and responsibilities, be it professionally or personally. But nobody questions this pattern as we all have a mindset of following the majority, the crowd. We have started believing that if more people are pursuing something, it must make sense, but it's not always true.
We forget that our happiness is essential for ourselves and our families. The truth is we won't ever be able to make someone happy unless we are happy from the inside. Our happiness depends on our relationships and our work. We all try to make our relationships better, but we never think that the majority of our time during the day and further for our entire life will be dedicated to our work. And that is what we need to focus on to make ourselves happy. You can earn money from a career you don't like, but you can earn much more than money when you work on something you love. When we work for something new we love, we rarely need the motivation to work or wake up in the morning. It is self-driven as all we want to focus on is our work. That work brings value to us and to others. And we are not here to earn money; it is that sense of joy, that value, that mental peace you get after working on something that matters to you.
Out of the 24 hours in a day, we sleep for 7-8 hours, work for 8-9 hours, the rest of the 8 hours are spent in our daily activities like bathing, eating, getting ready and some of it goes to our families and loved ones. Still, we carry on with what we are doing because we don't think it through. But it's high time that We need to get some time out from our everyday life to re-evaluate our life once in a while to check on ourselves to see if we are moving forward in the right direction instead of blindly following the routine.
We all are different and unique individuals. There is something different for each of us that drives us. Then why follow the crowd?
It's time we figure out where our heart lies. What makes us jump out of bed in the morning? What excites us? What gives us immense happiness? And figuring out cannot be done with your mind or putting those thoughts on paper; you need to take action. You need to try things out and see if it ignites that hidden spark inside you. And I promise you will fail many times, and all you need to do with those failures is to learn from them to rise again. But the bottom line is you will never know if you never try. Think about it and write down those things and people
who make you happy and make your life even more worthy. Find what you love doing and ask yourself about all the struggles you are willing to take; give your 500% to make your routine special.
Remember, nothing can change if nothing will change.
